Update: Wrestlemania 25 Winners, Results, Highlights
With over 72,000 people in attendance, Triple H retained his WWE Championship by beating Randy Orton with a pedigree after hitting him with a sledgehammer during this year’s Wrestlemania 25.
WWE gave due honors to the 2009 Hall of Fame inductees – Bill Watts, The Funks, Howard Finkel, Koko B. Ware, Von Eric through Kevin Von Erich and Ricky Steamboat.
Steve Austin also appeared in a 4-wheeler with the Austin music in the background and made bid farewell from the WWE over several beer bashes.
Wrestlemania 25 Theme “War Machine” and “Shoot To Thrill” performed by AC/DC.
Here are the highlights and results of Wrestlemania 25:
25-Battle Diva Royal
The Mystery Diva (not a diva but a drag – Santino Marella) won the match.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Kane and Punk battled it out at the top of the ladder. CM Punk knocked down Kane and won.
Unified WWE Tag Team Match
Primo and Carlito are the new Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.
Brother vs. Brother
Matt Hardy wins over his brother Jeff Hardy, a surprising twist to the Extreme Rules Match which went, uhmm, fairly well.
Intercontinental Championship:
Rey Mysterio defeated JBL in one of the quickest WWE matches ever to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Streak on the Line: 17-0 Wrestlemania winning streak
The Undertaker extended his winning streak to 17-0 after defeating Shawn Michaels in a 30-minute match.
Chris Jericho vs. The Legends: Elimination-Style Match
Chris Jericho managed to eliminate the “weaker” Legends – Snuka, Piper and Steamboat and beat a hell out of Ric Flair when Mickey Rourke intervened and made CJ hit the mat.
The TripleThreat Match: WWE World Heavyweight
John Cena gave both Big Show and Edge the Attitude Adjustment and finally covered Edge for a win – as expected.
WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton’s sledgehammer ploy backfired and got hit by it instead. Then Triple H gave him a pedigree to win the bout.

The stories are set for the 25th Wrestlemania on April 5, 2008 (Monday morning in Manila). Though not beautifully crafted, but what the heck, it’s the World Wrestling Entertainment.
Randy Orton will hand his “judgement” over Triple H, Orton’s former mentor, Triple H’s current tormentor. Both will fight for the WWE Championship.
John Cena managed to convince Vickie Guerrero to get him to a triple match with The Big Show and Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Brothers Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy will engage in an Extreme Rules Match, while Rey Mysterio will try his luck at the Intercontinental belt against JBL.
