The US Olympics Basketball “Redeem Team” is seen as driven as ever in clinching the Men’s Basketball Gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. It was the Guards who perhaps made the difference this time, amid the towering Centers like Yao Ming of China and Pau Gasol of Spain. Chris Paul said they have an unfinished business – and winning the Gold is their business, after failing to win the Gold in the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points Friday against the defending champion Argentina thus avenging their loss during the 2004 Olympics.
Earlier in the first game Sunday, 14th of August 2008, Argentina made a killing out of the Lithuanian Men’s Basketball Squad who defeated them during the first round in a stunning win by Team Lithuania. Argentina won the Bronze Medal with its 87-75 win against Lithuania.
Currently, Team USA is playing against Spain for the GOLD – so standby and check back for live updates.
