Green Archers vs Blue Eagle at 2008 UAAP Finals
One of the hottest rivalries in the UAAP Basketball event throughout the years, Ateneo Blue Eagles will face-off arch-rival La Salle Green Archers in the hotly contested 2008 UAAP Season 71 Championship Title.

Earlier, La Salle narrowly escaped playing FEU Tamaraws (final score: 67-62) for round two of their semis. Ateneo, on the other hand, routed University of the East Red Warriors in the second game (final score: 70-50) during Sunday’s (14-Sep-2008) Final Four semis at the Araneta Coliseum packed with 21,000 plus people watching the UAAP Final 4 games.
The Blue Eagles dominated the Game all through-out. Coach Norman Black said their semi-final game with the UE Warriors gave the Ateneo Team a glimpse of what its gonna be like playing with the La Salle Green Archers for the Championship.
La Salle and UE, who battled for the UAAP 2007 Championship, have the same game style, both offensive and defensive plays, according to Coach Black. Both team Head Coaches are brothers. Franz Pumaren calls the shots for La Salle Green Archers, while Dindo Pumaren leads the UE Red Warriors.
La Salle hopes to defend its Championship Title against long-time rival Ateneo Blue Eagles.
The UAAP Season 71 (2008) is once again heading for a potential hot frenzy with Ateneo and La Salle for the UAAP Championship Titles, and FEU Tamaraws against UE Red Warriors for the third spot.

Expect the town painted blue and green on Sunday, 21-September, 2008 at 4:00PM at the Araneta Colisuem.

-bcoz of their experience(imagine the original members of the team 2004)
-bcoz of coach’s experience (franz has 5 championships while black has none)
even though ateneo has an edge, la salle can beat them (last year they beat UE even though la salle was an underdog)
