Previous Article:
Today, September 25, 2008 at 4:00 PM, the Araneta Coliseum will be all Blue and Green – those colors just simply don’t mix together once again. With tickets sold out only a few hours after they were up for sell, it is expected to be a huge crowd at Araneta in Cubao, estimated at more than 23,000 people, a few thousand more than the regular 22,000 capacity of the event venue.
Meanwhile, Bloggista.org will keep you updated of the scenes and events happening later on Game 2 of the 2008 UAAP 71 Men’s Basketball Championship Finals between the defending Champion De La Salle Green Archers and the league’s top seed team Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Will the Blue Eagles sweep the Green Archers? In Bloggista.org’s running UAAP 71 poll, 64% are saying Ateneo will win the Championship in Game 2. 22% believed that DLSU will win the Championship Title in Game 3, while 14% think that ADMU will win the Title in Game 3. There were a total of 191 votes as of this writing.
Overall UAAP 71 Poll Results showed 69% (609 votes) are saying Ateneo Blue Eagles will win the UAAP Championship Title, while 31% (275 votes) believe the De La Salle Green Archers can make a back-to-back Championship.
To those thousands of unfortunate creatures who were not able to buy tickets, ABS-CBN is broadcasting the UAAP 71 Championship Finals on TV. At eBay, some patrons tickets are still up for bidding, ranging from Php12,000 or higher. Regular tickets costing Php55.00 were being sold by scalpers and online “merchants” for more than 300 bucks. It has been a good business for these folks!
Well, UAAP tickets (and NCAA too) should be well managed by the Ticket Outlets selling them next time. Perhaps its time for UAAP and NCAA bodies to look at this unfortunate, perennial problem of hoarding and scalping in the next season.
Let the games begin! Check out for more updates!

sour-graping si Coach Franz.. haha.. hey Rico, feeling mo panalo kayo? it’s your fault na hindi ko sports… ateneo deserved the win.. logically, they won all their games against lasalle this season… good defense, good offense.. they have chris, rabeh(raba), nonoy and eric with jai.. what more can you ask for? ^__^
Franz is not sour graping… he’s just frustrated with with the officiating… VERY biased… that Baclao should have been given also a tech. during the first game when he started shouting at the fallen Rico m. (seen in full view on TV)… that’s what you call sport!!!
ATENEO, SAVOR YOUR VICTORY… IT MIGHT BE YOUR LAST!!!

Metz – Empty Streetss last blog post..Earthquake felt in Makati: Sept 27, 2008
OI atenista haha kung feeling mo ateneo sucks edi huwag ka mag-aral sa ateneo?? What a “brat”. Maraming lumuluha ng dugo makapasok lang ng ateneo tapos ganyan ka. Magpasalamat ka at nakakpag-aral ka sa mabuting eskuwelahan. Anyways, na-WARNINGAN si Baclao noong first game. The same warning was given to Rico on the second game.. BUT he KEPT on DOING it. Kaya naslap siya ng technical.
B, I have been encountering some issues with the math in bloggista.com I tried leaving a comment but always got an error when I tried to submit because it said that the sum is wrong but B how hard can the math be hehehe like a moment ago it was 3 + 5 which is 8 sigh huhuhu

@Metz, LOL, yeah I have been receiving complaints about how hard it is to answer the math question – it isn’t just accepting correct answers at time – got to take it out nalang.
bloggistas last blog post..Graham Langdon is Selling Entrecard
Ateneo definitely deserved the title. They played better than La Salle did, hindering the latter to lose four times this season. The entire La Salle community can rant all they want, since all the things they’re saying won’t change the past, anyway.
So let them have their own taste of sour graping because that’s the only thing they can ever do, aside from flashing dirty fingers on national television, cursing, and trash-talking against their opponents. If there’s one thing they’re extremely good at – it’s not basketball – it’s blaming the referees and shouting LUTO even in the midst of their bitter midnight sleep.
Karma does strike back and in this case, it struck them hard. Real hard, that is. Not once, not twice, but four amazing times.
Indeed, it feels so good to bleed blue. ONE BIG FIGHT!
UAAP Season 71 Senior’s Basketball:
Ateneo’s official record: 17 total wins with one loss. 4-0 against La Salle. Nabbed 11 out of 17 total individual awards. Rabeh as season MVP, Ryan as Rookie of the year, Nonoy as best defensive player and Finals MVP. Well, that’s just 4 of the 11 awards.
AND NEVER, let me repeat, NEVER did La Salle come close to beating us. We always won the game with an almost 8 points margin against La Salle throughout the season. And during the finals game La Salle have ONLY LEAD ONCE (3 points was their LARGEST lead) during a game. THEY HAVE TRAILED all througout.
OH! and by the way Ateneo was also the champion of NIKE Summer League. AND, the Ateneo Blue Eaglets also won the Juniors Championship.
WOW, thanks Champ for the numbers and stats! Very elaborate eh.
And as for the Grasshopper call.. I hope this will end the debate already. The commentators (TJ Manotoc) said, “You be the judge”. LaSalle’s point is that Maierhoffer was calling his teammates. First note, they are on the defensive. Why call a play? Moreover,”If it was the index finger, then why are you pointing it away from the person you’re calling?”
congratzz ateneo
u realy deserve to win
pagbutihin nyo pa
ang daming fans nyo dto sa baguio
God bless
mwahhhhhhhhh
Go ateneo, wlng wla ung la salle,pr0ud to be atenista!
