Manny Pacquiao went to the gym, and had a great time boxing his sparring partner Oscar de la Hoya. Seriously, it was a fight dominated by the Pacman from start to the end of 8th round. Oscar came in surprisingly weaker, and landed too few punches to hurt Pacquiao.

Now it’s time to talk about the upcoming “Dream Match” between the Philippines’ Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao and Oscar “Golden Boy” De La Hoya. The two will slug it out on December 6, 2008 at the famous boxing venue MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The US$100M welterweight match between one of boxing’s legendary fighter De La Hoya and the best pound for pound boxer Pacquiao almost did not make it to the negotiating table. Marred by an initial issue on earnings split by 70% (De La Hoya) – 30% (Pacquiao). Still it will be Pacquiao’s biggest pay check if the fight pushes through.
Jose Suleiman of WBC earlier said it will be a “circus match” – obviously not approving the match, as both are not welterwight figthers. De La Hoya has to shed pounds to meet the 147-lb mark, while Pacquiao has to stuff himself to make it to 147 lbs from 135-lbs.

Height and Reach. De La Hoya stands 5’10″ while Pacquiao stands 5’6″. De La Hoya has a 6-inch reach advantage over Pacquiao.
Weight. De La Hoya have reached 154 lbs in the ring in his previous fights. Pacquiao is fighting at 135 lb division but is usually 10 lbs heavier during actual fight.
Age. De La Hoya is 37 years old, while Pacquiao is 29 years old.
