UAAP 2009 Men’s Basketball Game 3 Results Post Update:
Ateneo wins, 71 – 58.
QUEZON CITY, Manila – It’s a winner-take-all in today’s Game 3 of the 2009 UAAP (Season 72)Â Men’s Basketball Championship Finals between two hungry-for-a-win teams Ateneo Blue Eagles and the UE Red warriors.
The University of the East team Red Warriors is hoping for another upset after it routed the much favored Ateneo de Manila University team Blue Eagles in Game 2, extending the best of 3 game series to a decision game today, October 8, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
UE is hell-bent on ending its 23-year championship title drought as it hopes to strengthen its shooting after it ruled both Game 1 and Game 2 on defense.
Ateneo, on the other hand is gunning for its first back-to-back Championship since 1997. The Blue Eagles team is enjoying advantage in offensive rebounds and shooting courtesy of its gigantic center Rabe Hussaini and guards Jai Reyes and Eric Salamat.
Coach Norman Black of the Ateneo Blue Eagles is condifent that his team will win the 2009 UAAP Championship, however UE Red Warriors Paul Lee, Elmer Espiritu and the rest of the team will give the Blue Eagles a hard time and a good match.
