Personal Life
After their parents divorced when she was only five years old, Michelle and her sisters lived with their father for much of the time while her mother, Karla Kalua (a former bold actress who starred in the ‘70s skin flick Chikas with Rachel Anne Wolfe and Tanya Gomez), worked in various parts of the world.  When their mother returned, the girls moved in with her.  Their mom sent them to a good school in Greenhills, however, Michelle had to stop her schooling due to her showbiz career’s demand.  Sometime back, Michelle had a big quarrel with her mom.  She left home and now lives in a rented condo unit with her sister Era.

Michelle was romantically linked with actor JC de Vera and after her break up with JC, Michelle had a long distance bf, a Pinoy based in in LA, whom she met through a common friend.  Their relationship lasted for eight months.  She also had a relationship with Victor Neri, who, among her ex-boyfriends, was the one who had a huge influence in building her image and managing her career.

Career
Michelle was a finalist of ABS-CBN reality talent search “Star Circle Quest” in 2004 which earned her a ticket to becoming a contract artist of the said network.  That same year she was also in the television show “SCQ Reload Ok Ako!”, and a television drama designed to showcase the talents of the finalists of the “Star Circle Quest.”

Together with her sister Ehra, she joined GMA Network in 2007 and became one of Annabelle Rama’s talents.  She was one of the casts of the fantasy series Dyesebel, wherein she played a villainess, and in Luna Mystika as one of the fairies.  Michelle had other TV projects such as “Zorro” where she was given the role of Juana Manalo and “Tinik Sa Dibdib”, GMA’s sine novela.

Michelle appeared in the cover of Maxim December 2006 and on FHM in September 2007, where she was voted as one of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World for 2009 (see Michelle at number 40 in the list below):
