Actor Paolo Contis confirms EB Babe GF Lian’s pregnancy

Actor and GMA 7 Talent Paolo Contis confirmed Saturday during a Startalk interview about his girlfriend Lian Paz’ infanticipation. Lian, a former EB Babe member, is confirmed to be four months pregnant, her bulging tummy now more noticeable.

There had been rumors and blind items in the past weeks pertaining to the controversy the couple are now facing.

“Honestly, the blind item came out before the news materialized,” Paolo clarified. “Of course, we had to inform our family and our co-workers at GMA first, ‘Nay Lolit (Solis), my family, her family…we have no intention of hiding it ever,” he added.

Startalk host Ricky Lo asked how Lian’s pregnancy would affect her reported ovarian problem.

Paolo said they were given three recommendations by the doctor: First is (for Lian) to undergo an operation, second is to control Lian’s menstruation for a year, and lastly, the option that would allow Lian to still bear a child, which was their mutual choice.

Paolo explained: “We talked it over and both made the decision that’s why it surprised me why there are rumors spreading around that I am not taking responsibility over Lian’s pregnancy.”

Another intrigue that Paolo wanted to clarify was the rumor about his mom playing favorites with his former girlfriend, also a GMA artist, Isabel Oli.

“My mommy never said anything. Of course I knew it will take time since they haven’t had a chance to talk. Their meeting was the first step. I was there, and was nervous hoping things would turn out okay.”

According to Paolo, he is now very happy that his mom and Lian finally met and talked. Lian was also happy about finally meeting her boyfriend’s mom. Her message to Paolo’s mom: “I am happy that we met at last. I hope there will be more opportunity for us to spend time together. I promise to love your son (so) don’t you worry.”

Lolit Solis, Paolo’s Manager, was said to have welcomed the news happily and even congratulated her talent.

Lian, on the other hand, confirmed her decision to terminate her contract with her manager Malou Choa-Fagar as EB Babe for the noontime show Eat Bulaga. She said she would like to focus on her baby at this time but is still open to offers or opportunities to work if given a chance in the future.

Paolo expressed his gratitude towards Lian who he said never left him amidst the many intrigues. “Lian and I had been through a lot. I am always thankful that she (Lian) stayed with me through all the bad times, all the trials, and mostly (through) all the negative publicity against her.”

The couple has yet to disclose information on whether they would arrange for their marriage prior to Lian’s giving birth or otherwise.
