Does being cheap mean being a lemon? Nope, it’s a cherry! Cherry mobile, that is.
I stumbled upon these phones when I went to the mall yesterday to get a Sun broadband post-paid plan. As I passed by the Cherry Mobile Concept Store, curiosity crept and found myself tinkering with their dummy units. I asked the sales person if he could show me an actual unit for I wanted to see the interface. He gladly showed me this M-35 model, well… its UI is similar to Nokia’s (by similar I mean like identical twins similar) and the keypad feels like a Sony Ericsson, tactile and clucky. I was told that this is their best-selling model- I guess the built-in TV gave it away.
Most of their phone models are capable of having simultaneous dual sim, mp3 player, fm radio and camera. As for the prices— they range from Php2,690 to Php6,990. Not bad at all, in fact they can pass as your second phone, that way you wouldn’t be worried to use that iPhone while you’re out there on the street. Best of all, I think it would make a great gift to your children, nannies, helpers, secretaries, or anybody you think might be an easy prey for those cellphone thieves.
Now we can say, it’s time for a Cherry Christmas!
