While everybody was glued to the Firepower: the Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto fight last November 15, 2009, another firepower had already started outside the boxing ring a few days before the fight.
Celebrity news have been flooded with not so blind items all pointing out to Manny as the controversial personality whose marriage is allegedly on the rocks following an affair with his leading lady in a movie.
The buzz became stronger when Krista Ranillo, a sexy actress, was said to have been spotted in Las Vegas with her family.
Krista has been linked with Manny since last September following the start of their shooting for the movie Wapakman which is supposed to be shown this December as an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival.
In the beginning, showbiz observers speculated that this is just part of a publicity for the movie, but apparently the issue would not die and instead has ballooned with reports that Manny and Krista had their rendezvous in Hong Kong and were seen attending showbiz affairs together including that one of Manny’s relief operations for Typhoon Ondoy victims.
Just a few days before his fight with Cotto, Pacman was a guest in Jimmy Kimmel’s show. It was here when paparazzi caught him driving a sports car with a woman passenger after leaving the studio.
The woman was covering her face, but everyone is pointing to Krista as the passenger. This reportedly caught the ire of Jinkee, Paquiao’s wife, and that the two had an altercation before Manny’s fight with Cotto. This was later on confirmed during the Thanksgiving Mass for Pacquiao’s triumph where Jinkee was seen crying and brushed aside Manny’s arms when he was trying to comfort her.
Gaining more sympathy for being a martyr wife, Jinkee, meanwhile, has been quiet all along, sending messages to the media that she refuses to comment on the issue. As the plot thickens, more paparazzi shots, photos and videos are coming out about the three people involved.
And just like in boxing, looks like this round goes to Jinky. End of Round One.
