ANILA – A government agency has revoked the license of a celebrity cosmetic surgeon whose clients included stars in the country’s entertainment industry as well members of high society for immorality, a ranking official announced.
Dr. Restituto de Ocampo, the chairman of the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) Medical Board, said its six members unanimously approved the decision to strip Dr. Hayden Kho of his license for taking videos of his sexual liaisons with actress Katrina Halili and several others.
“After a prolonged examination and hearing testimonies of witnesses, the board found there is enough basis that Kho committed immoral and dishonorable act and we felt his license should be revoked,” De Ocampo pointed out.
This is the second adverse ruling against Kho who was suspended on September 2 for one year by the Philippine Medical Association “for conduct offensive to the profession” also based on the complaint of Halili.
Early this year, Halili accused Kho before the PRC of immoral, dishonorable and unethical conduct for taking a video of their sexual liaison without her consent.
In her complaint, Halili asked the PRC to revoke Kho’s medical license and prohibit him from medical practice.
The PRC legal department said the ruling to revoke Kho’s license was expected because he admitted that he took the video without Halili’s consent.
But Kho’s lawyer said they would appeal the PRC decision to the Supreme Court, arguing that her client was not involved in the dissemination of the video.
Kho has admitted that while he took videotapes of his sexual encounters with Halili, he claimed he did it as part of his “private collection” and did not authorize anybody to disseminate them.
When copies of Kho’s sexual liaison with Halili became public, these became an “instant bestseller” as thousands of customers lined up to purchase them from the underground but lucrative DVD markets in Metro Manila and even in similar stalls in the Visayas and Mindanao.
What made the copies even more “titillating,” some customers said, was that they also included Kho’s sexual encounters with other sexy starlets who, unlike Halili, however, did not bother to file similar complaints against him.
But this is not all regarding Kho’s legal problems.
Based on Halili’s complaint, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) also filed charges against him for sexual violence.
The charges were filed before the Department of Justice which formed a panel of government prosecutors to study the cases. However, the team has yet to come up with its findings.
