2009 MMFF Winners

Last night’s 35^th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards night at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City proved to be a triumph not only to the winners but also to the Entertainment Industry as a whole.  The superb ratings as well as the box-office records of the seven (7) finalists gave the industry its much-needed boost following the recent disasters and recession the country has encountered.

Winners for the Best Picture were determined on the basis of artistic merit, box-office results and Filipino cultural/historical value.

Noteworthy were the granting of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Dolphy and the victory of Ms. Sharon Cuneta as she won her first MMFF Best Actress Award for her portrayal of a Chinese Matriarch in Mano Po 6.

3rd BEST PICTURE: Ang Darling Kong Aswang (Octoarts/APT Enteratinment)

BEST ACTOR: Bong Revilla (Ang Panday)

BEST ACTRESS: Sharon Cuneta (Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Phillip Salvador (Ang Panday)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Heart Evangelista (Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love)

BEST DIRECTOR: Joel Lamangan (Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love)

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Lee Meily (I Love You, Goodbye)

BEST FILM EDITOR: Manet Dayrit (I Love You, Goodbye)

BEST ORIGINAL STORY: Vanessa Valdez, Kriz Gazmen & Karen Ramos (I Love You, Goodbye)

BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS: Ang Panday

BEST SOUND RECORDING: Ang Darling Kong Aswang

BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN: Ang Panday

BEST MAKE-UP: Shake, Rattle and Roll XI

BEST ORIGINAL THEMESONG: “Ang Panday” (Ang Panday) by Ogie Alcasid

BEST MUSICAL SCORE: Mano Po 6

BEST CHILD PERFORMER: Robert “Buboy” Villar (Ang Panday)
